Kickstart Your FIFO Drilling Career in 2025

Want to get into mining, travel across WA and build a long-term career that leads to high pay and real progression? This traineeship is your pathway into the drilling sector, working on active Diamond and Reverse Circulation rigs throughout the Pilbara and Goldfields.

As a Drillers Offsider Trainee, you will learn hands-on from experienced crews, gain nationally recognised qualifications and set yourself up to move into roles such as Driller, Supervisor or Operations in the future.

This is physically demanding, fast-paced work that rewards commitment. If you are keen to learn, can work hard and are looking for stability with serious earning potential, this opportunity is worth it.

Successful candidates will learn skills and work their way up to Driller roles and can earn up to $300k/year.

You will be learning from skilled Drillers and working with some of the leading names in WA drilling. You will build strong industry connections while getting paid well from day one.

What the Job Involves

Your day will include tasks such as:

  • Following instructions and working closely with the Driller
  • Daily inspections and pre-start checks on equipment
  • Completing required safety processes and paperwork
  • Helping maintain and clean drilling rigs, tools and machinery
  • Loading and unloading gear and supplies
  • Assisting with set-up, breakdown and moving rigs
  • Lifting and handling drill rods, core trays, sample bags and other equipment
  • Supporting the team with general duties as required

This job requires physical effort, time on your feet, and dealing with underground working conditions such as dust, heat and confined spaces.

What You Need

To apply, you must have:

  • Manual C Class drivers licence without restrictions
  • Ability to FIFO from Perth, Western Australia
  • Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical
  • Ability to pass a full pre-employment drug test
  • National Police Clearance (within the last three months)
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • White Card
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Practical mechanical mindset and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to train, work hard and follow directions

Good fitness is essential as this role involves consistent manual labour and repetitive lifting.
